Billo.app
Billo is a video marketplace with a 3000+ video creator community that enables brands to buy user-generated content (UGC) videos at an affordable price. As a product designer at Billo, I have owned and driven the research, design, prototyping, and production both for brands and also for creators.

What is Billo
Billo is an industry-leading video marketplace where brands can buy user-generated videos.

The Billo marketplace has two sides - demand and supply.

Demand comes from the brands that are looking to order some videos. Supply is Billo's video creators community (3000+ creators).

Billo pays creators for each uploaded (approved) video - which makes Billo a gig economy company, too. Also, the creators get to keep the product they receive from the brand.

Everyone can become a creator and earn money by filming videos for brands.
How Billo works
Brands usually use UGC videos for social media, or product pages. Since videos are filmed by creators who are regular people - they seem more authentic and relatable.

The process consists of quite a few steps:
-
the brand creates a video task
(a brief with all the video options - from video type, duration to aspect ratio) -
creators apply to this task
(if they like the product and think they can film a great video with a brief in mind) -
the brand approves creators they like
-
the brand sends its products to creators
-
creators film and upload the video to Billo
-
the brand approves uploaded videos
(or requests edits)
Design responsibilities
At Billo, I was responsible for the user experience on both sides of the platform - for the brands (demand) & for creators (supply).

I was covering the end-to-end product design process:
A lot of projects started by identifying opportunities for new or updated functionality. I discovered a lot of these opportunities by doing user interviews, usability testing, and surveys.
Framing these problems is also an important task that allows me not to lose focus on what problems I need to solve. The team & I were discussing technical possibilities and constraints.

Solutioning was my primary bread and butter at Billo - creating the most suitable solutions for our clients to reach their goals when using Billo, and at the same time, these solutions must help Billo to achieve business objectives.

Also, modifying and revising existing designs to meet changing customer preferences was also a part of my job.
During my time at Billo, I have mostly worked on:
-
Full re-design of 'Billo for creators' app
-
Improving purchase funnel conversion
-
Template gallery for brands
-
UX of adding a new product for brands
-
No-scenario tasks
-
Chat between the brands and creators
-
Lots and lots of various UI initiatives & fixes
